COMMITTEES AND TASK FORCES

Standing Committees

  • GSWIDA Board of Directors
    The Board of Directors authorizes the GSWIDA committees, operations, projects and events.  Directors are elected from among leading Association members.

  • Executive Committee
    The Executive Committee oversees and evaluates the progress of the Association’s program of work.  Members are elected from the board.

  • Nominating Committee
    This committee nominates new board members and officers.  It is a three member committee appointed yearly by the chairman of the board.

  • Finance and Audit Committee
    The Finance Committee monitors the financial performance and policies of the Association, and recommends monetary changes as necessary under the leadership of the treasurer elected by the board.

  • Membership & Member Services
    This committee is responsible for the overall program of enlisting new members, coordinating and executing yearly membership and renewal drives, and formulating marketing and program strategies to achieve yearly membership goals.

  • Infrastructure & Public Relations
    This committee will serve as the Association liaison and member advocate with all governmental bodies and local news groups by tracking municipal cases which may arise that will have an impact upon the Association and the Industrial Park (such as roads, bridges, thoroughfares, sexually oriented businesses); committee will attend Planning & Zoning meetings and City Council meetings representing the Association.

  • Fundraising Foundation
    The Fundraising Foundation oversees the improvement of quality of life of members impacted by the Industrial Park by identifying and focusing on education and job creation.  Since 2000, the Association committed over $125,000 in monetary support to nonprofit organizations and elementary schools within the Industrial Park.

Ad Hoc Program Committees & Task Forces

  • Golf Tournament Planning
    Responsible for the planning, budgeting, development and institution of the fundraising golf tournament; the planning shall include, but not be limited to, site selection for tournament, confirmation of Guest Golfer, date and time of tournament, cost and budget analysis of tournament, list of volunteers and expected duties, advertisements, solicitation of corporate sponsors, invitations, and awards. 

    The Committee shall begin planning three months prior, and have a written budget prepared and presented to the board for approval, and shall be charged with keeping accurate records and present a final financial report to the board within two months after the day of the tournament.

  • Leads & Networking Planning
    Responsible for soliciting host companies, furnishing the host with a list of responsibilities, advertising the event, sending out invitations, taking RSVP’s, and registration at the event, and shall serve as the point of contact providing update of any actions performed and report to the board during the regularly called board meetings.

  • Monument Enhancement
    Responsible for advertising and soliciting the sale of monuments, secure the monument, file municipal permits and secure approvals, and oversee the installation of monument per specifications approved by the municipality.  Periodically price monuments and insurance costs, and report to the board for approval to ensure the Association advertises the most current cost.

  • Newsletter Editor
    Responsible for the overall quarterly publication production, including artwork, layout, typesetting, printing and distribution by ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget requirements; planning the contents of publication, develop and write story and content ideas, re-write and edit copy to improve readability; placement and allocation of print space according to parameters and copy significance; verify facts, dates and statistics, and monitor news-gathering events significant to the GSW Industrial Park.

  • Power Luncheon Planning
    Responsible for site location, topic and speaker, budgeting, advertising, invitations, RSVP’s, and registration at the quarterly events, and shall serve as the point of contact providing update of any actions performed and report to the board during the regularly called board meetings.

  • Webmaster Design & Maintenance
    Responsible for creating and implementing design, and maintaining the site through frequent evaluation of the Association needs and goals and by formulating and implementing strategies so that site remains a valuable member resource and communication tool.

Each program shall have a chairman responsible for the overall program execution, and shall be a member of the board and report to the board at each during the regularly called board meetings.  Chairman is responsible for soliciting and organizing volunteers to assist them in carrying out their duties.
